Thanks to so many of you who have asked how I was doing!!! I often don’t know what I’d do without your added love, friendship and support.
I’ve been trying to get caught up on many long-overdue doctor appointments (non-CP, which is what’s been the only priority for almost 2 years)… and on top of finding that a direct, young relative had just developed metastatic breast cancer, I found 7 new lumps-- on top of a small “tumor” they’ve been following for years (still thinking it’s just a benign tumor). They reminded me that I was supposed to be seen for a 6-month follow-up back in 2004, but the CP has monopolized my life with so many surgeries and hospital stays since that everything else became a “lesser” priority.
They now need some diagnostic studies on these new breast lumps, and the doc also found a large growth of concern on my cervix-- all of which will be tested this Friday and I’ll hopefully know more then… but either way, I can expect more needle biopsies as well as a surgery to remove the growth and to biopsy it. When all the docs start rushing you around and the diagnostic folks are fitting you in within a day, you know they’re concerned.
Nothing else new w/the CP-- Just trying to get in enough nutrition/hydration on this bland, no-fat, soft diet instead of TPN-- but what a relief to eat anything! Still getting low-grade fevers, but the doc from yesterday’s findings thinks they could also be from this growth, not any additional infection. Good and bad news together, I guess.
After now 15 admissions (or is that 16?) in the past year and just as many surgeries, it’s hard to imagine more surgery-- but I’ve been having this lower pelvic pain for nearly a year and the PCP/GI docs kept saying I’d have to follow-up on it after the CP calms down. Guess I get to now do both at the same time.
I’m still handling everything the way I do-- With the most positive outlook possible, but there is a point where I have to wonder why so much keeps happening. I just want my “normal” life back so much-- and I know you all understand that feeling too well.
Any support is appreciated-- Also, I’ll be adding to the blog at www.lisabard.com this weekend and for anyone interested, check out the Group with the link on CarePlace under “Empowerment Unlimited.”
Thanks to all of you and wishing all some pain-free times!
Many hugs and love to all,
Lisa
