Asthma Member Introductions

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the community. Everyone here has something to share about Asthma. For the discussion boards, we ask that you keep your full name and location private.

I have c p and I am single parent at the same time.

I want to learn all I can about Asthma
and COPD. I would also like to get info
on Rheumatoid Arthritis.

my mother is a severe asmathtic(sp).I just want to learn as much as possible.

I’ve been living with this for a while now and it’s simply painful and it’s good to connect with others who can relate and truly understand.

I have severe asthma, fibromyalgia, diabetis type 2, epstein barr virus, cronic fatigue syndrome
I am just a mess.

Personally, the fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and Epstein Barr
syndrome - that’s enough to do one in mentally and physically.

I myself have just become a Type 2 diabetic due to my weight which was
brought on by my seasonal allergy asthma. It’s a real bummer when on a
beautiful day, you have to stay cooped up inside instead of going for a
walk. On top of that I have an autoimmune disease called sarcoidosis
that has infiltrated the lower lobes of my lungs which limits my
exercise and breathing.

Life is not fair, it’s not easy and as you say it’s a mess. Do your
doc’s take good care of your fibro & CFS? Cause if they really don’t
believe in it, FIND ones that DO!! They are out there. Once you have
found them, they can help get that part of your life under control and
then slowly, some of the other may fall into place. Diabetes is just
following what you eat - not easy so find yourself a partner even though
this website and help each other stick to your diet. Be imaginative but
stick within your diet. If necessary go see a nutritionist again if you
haven’t seen one already. On the asthma end, have you ever been tested
for allergies? Might be something to consider for the very near future.
It’s full blown allergy season here in CT so they more than likely would
want to test you when it’s your “quite” season. I found out all I was
allergic to regarding food and avoid it like crazy and during my
seasons, 3/4 of the year, I use my inhaler faithfully and I seem to be
able to get along OK. Of course it took me a while. I finally found a
great doc at an Infectious Clinic who believes in the old fashion
method. So, I take antihistamines every night, up to 5 during my worst
season and when I have a break through, out comes the prednisone and all
the goodies.

Don’t give up. Take control. Bit by bit. You have already been
diagnosed with two of the hardest problems (fibromyalgia and CFS) for
doctors to diagnosis. If they can really get these under control and
manageable for you and you are happy, I really think you will feel
better as now you do have control over something in your life.

Good luck and let me know how you are doing!!!

Hi there,
I’m Mary from King George, Virginia. My middle son, James, is ten years old. James has “partial” ACC, or dysgenesis, as well as some rare chromosomal anomalies. James has four translocations on chromosomes # 2, 3, 8 and 9. He is globally delayed, but he’s happy. My other two sons are Patrick (12) and Sean (9). I also have 15 canine children of various colors and ages.

Running research blogs into support for diffrnt conditions

my husband & 17 m/o daughter had DGS

New ideas to help treat my daughters eczema and help with her asthma.

I have been dx with Fibromyalgia. However, I still am as yet unconvinced that I have this condition… so am always wanting to learn more. A healthy diet, the best in Vitamins and Supplements and regular visits to my Chiropractor keep me from feeling overwhelmed. I am the CareGiver for my young granddaughter that has Cystic Fibrosis.

My grandson was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 5 months old. He is now almost 11! He’s got multiple disabilities and also has Diabetes Insipidus due to the tumor. I’ve joined here to maybe chat once and a while with others; I know we’re not alone

i have got cerebral palsy

Asthma runs in my family and we experience unusal symptoms. Just wanted to see what others had to say about their expereince

Hi Cathy,

I’m interested in your website.

Thank you,
Mary Liz, from Cystic-L

I have PH. It runs in my family. I have 5 children and a hubby who is in the US Air Force. I may have PH, but life doesn’t and won’t stop just because I have an uncurable illness.

I was diagnosed with Lupus in December 2006. Upon researching this disease I now know I have suffered with it since I was a child. Especially since my late teens. I was hopistalized in Oct last year for 5 days with butterfly rash and extreme pain and fevers of 103. They did not diagnose me until they did skin biopsy’s in Dec. I am on Plaquenil. For the last 2 weeks I have had the worst headache. The Dr. perscribed Lortab because it was so bad. That did not even help yesterday. I want to get to know more people with the same problems and learn more about it.
