Nice to meet you, Victim! And kudos to you for keeping your sense of humor and sticking around! Things can get kinda crazy on message boards but if everybody keeps talking, we can sort it out fast enough. Might mean a few late nights but it's usually worth losing a little sleep!

A lot of people write about meeting the N not too long after ending a marriage, or experiencing a loss of some kind. Maybe people are looking for a way to feel better and when someone fills that void, we stop looking for the problems and focus on the good things. That's pretty darn normal, actually. Who dates someone and WANTS to point out their flaws? LOL

Glad you're here though and learning how to take care of yourself post-N.

AFTER BEING IGNORED BY MY EX-HUSBAND FOR 34 YEARS , I WAS READY, WILLING AND ABLE TO BE CHARMED TO DEATH. WHILE HE WAS OFF STOCK CAR RACING I WAS RAISING OUR THREE CHILDREN. SUDDENLY HERE WAS THIS MAN WHO TOOK OVER MY LIFE. I HAD BEEN ONLY WITH MY HUSBAND ALL MY LIFE SO I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT A RELATIONSHIP WAS ALL ABOUT. THE MORE TRUTHFUL I WAS, THE MORE HE USED IT AGAINST ME. AMAZING. NOW AT LEAST THROUGH SAM’S BOOK I KNOW HOW TO RECOGNIZE A N. AND STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I NEED TO MAKE MYSELF HAPPY AND NOT DEPEND ON OTHERS TO ENTERTAIN ME. I’M GETTING BETTER EVERY DAY.
